Food Trucks and unique stands allow guests to taste the Bold North
Guests at Super Bowl LIVE presented by Verizon will have an opportunity to get a taste of the Bold North, as the Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee today unveils the food offerings during the 10-day festival. Trucks and stands will dot the route along Super Bowl LIVE – running Nicollet Mall from 6th to 12th Street, and inside the first floor of the Dayton’s Project building.
Local food trucks that line the streets of downtown in the summer will return for a Bold North winter. Local food trucks include Butcher Salt, Chef Shack, Fair Faves, Free Indeed Food, Gastrotruck, Hot Indian Foods, Jake’s City Grille, K-Town Street Foods, Lola’s on the Plaza, Market Bar-B-Que, MidNord Empanadas, MN Nice Cream, Original Hockey Mom Brownies, Panini Pinups, Pharaohs Gyros, Pimentos Jamaican Kitchen, Sandy’s Grill & Italian Ice, The Fabled Rooster, The Moral Omnivore, and the Purple People Feeder. Among the more than 100 offerings are mini donuts, bison burgers, jerk chicken, and smoked mac and cheese.
In addition to the trucks, food stands will highlight local fare, with local companies partnering with Best Beverage Catering (BBC) to offer an array of Bold North foods. T-Rex Cookie Company will bring their enormous cookies, and help you wash it down with a glass of milk or hot chocolate; Nordic Waffles will offer sweet and savory varieties of waffles, including cinnamon sugar and a Waffle Dog and a “Slammin’ Salmon Waffle; and Nord Haus Foods will serve the very Bold North Ebelskiver pancakes. Additional offerings along LIVE include flavored French fries, glogg cider, chilis and soups, carved sandwiches, as well as pizzas and pierogis. And it wouldn’t be Minnesota without an array of Juicy Lucy offerings. Delta Airlines will be on hand to offer an array of sausages at Delta Grill, serving guests out of an airplane-styled truck. And Nicollet Mall favorite Brit’s Pub will offer walk-up service outside its iconic location.
As part of this special event, Anheuser Busch brand beers and specialty cocktails including the Nordic Mule, Bold Fashioned, and Bold North Hot Toddy will also be available for guests to enjoy throughout Super Bowl LIVE, during event hours.
“We want guests to have the Super Bowl experience of a lifetime, and that includes sampling all the great food the Bold North has to offer,” said Maureen Bausch, CEO of the MNSBHC. “Grab a bite of hot food to warm you from the inside as you enjoy Super Bowl LIVE surrounded by ice and snow. And when you’re done, step inside and enjoy a drink and a meal at our many downtown area restaurants. For 10 days at the end of January, downtown Minneapolis will become one giant celebration, and we hope everyone comes down to be part of it.”
These offerings are in addition to the array of food and beverage options already available from the bars and restaurants that line Nicollet Mall daily, which will be open beyond the operating hours of Super Bowl LIVE presented by Verizon.
